HOW DO I GET ACCESS TO AN MLA HANDBOOK?
by Kathy McLain, M.A.
Should you have an instructor who requires MLA format, the
best procedure is to locate an MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers,
sixth edition, written by Joseph Gibaldi. Copies of the handbook can be
purchased at any major bookstore, including the campus bookstore.
Because you will be using MLA format throughout your academic and possibly
your professional career, it is well worth your time to buy a copy of this
handbook for yourself. Be sure you purchase the most current edition--the
sixth edition--because older editions do not have the most recent MLA format
included. A copy of the handbook can also be found at Paradise Valley
Community College in the reference section of the library--call number LB2369.G53
2003. This copy of the handbook cannot be checked out, but you can
use it as a reference in the library. Another copy of the MLA Handbook
is also available for your use in the Paradise Valley Community College
Learning Support Center (LSC).
