Jane
began tutoring in the LSC in January 2005. She
has a B.A. degree from Fort Hays State University in Kansas
and a M.A. degree from University of Kansas. Jane has
taught English Composition and Literature for the Maricopa Community Follege District from 1990-2004, most of them at PVCC. She has also initiated and taught a Literary Exploration class for the Department of Continuing Education at PVCC in 2006. Also in the Spring of 2007, Jane began working with an ESL Conversation Group as an assistant, and was a facilitator for an ESL Conversation Group during the Summer Session. She enjoys working with ESL students and plans to continue working with conversation groups. She presently is teaching an English 071 class at Estrella Mountain Community College in addition to her tutoring schedule at PVCC. Her non academic interests include Basketball (Go Jayhawks!), Mystery genre authors such as Dorothy Sayers, Jill Paton Walsh, Susan Conant, and Susan Wittig Albert; also British Fanasty writers like J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, and C.S. Lewis. She also enjoys humerous writing and is in the process of starting a "Plum Club" for fans of P.G. Wodehouse. Jane also enjoys exploring the Catlin Court area of Glendale, and outings with the Red Hat Society. When she has spare time, Jane enjoys playing computer word games like Text Twist and Bookworm. |
