Staff Meeting Minutes
August 23, 2005
In Attendance: Rick Sheets, Richard Morales, Johnna Anderson,
Alison Livingston, Pam Komarek, Dani Pierce
These items
represent major points that were discussed. The entire staff meeting was
recorded on iPod for future reference.
Change of Time for Future Staff
Meetings
- Rick asked for feedback on
changes to the staff meeting time. It was agreed that moving the time from
2 pm to 2:30 pm would be advantageous for all
parties. Future staff meetings will be held on Tuesdays from 2:30 t0 3:30 pm.
PASS
- PASS time went surprising
smoothly Monday and Tuesday. Johnna suggested that using two open tabs in
the Log Listing while logging out students during the "rush" and
alternating between the two was an efficient way of quickly removing
students from TutorTrac
Database
- It was noted that the most
up-to-date information regarding Tutor information (address, phones, etc)
is in TutorTrac. The database will be updated from the information in
TutorTrac. Richard will put together a DL from emails in TutorTrac.
Tutor Training
- Rick is looking at putting
together new tutor training. CRLA requires 10 hours for certification, we
will probably be providing more than required. Training will be Friday and
Saturdays and utilize videos and DVDs with learning logs.
LSC Bookmarks
- Bookmarks are complete - Johnna
will continue to provide updated bookmarks to feature items such as ESL
Conversation Groups and study tips. It was decided that Calculator
Workshop bookmarks should be printed on yellow cardstock, ESL on cherry,
and study tips on lilac.
Faculty Resource Room
- Rick, Richard, Johnna and Pam
will be the primary people for dealing with Faculty Resource Room issues
(paper supply, computer issues, etc If a faculty member needs to stay past
the LSC closing time, they should be given instructions to ensure the
front door locks behind them and the lights are off as they leave, and
they should notify security that they are leaving. If we are leaving a
faculty member in the LSC past closing hours, we should go through the
regular closing routine and notify security that a faculty member (give
the name) is remaining in the building.
Lost Items, Messages for Tutors,
etc.
- Items left in the LSC will be
kept at the front desk until close of business. At that time, any
unclaimed items are turned over to security.
- Messages for tutors should be
written on the message pad at the front desk and the top copy should be
placed in the tutor's inbox in the break room.
- Dani brought up the need for a
common log-book at the front desk. Johnna offered to supply a small spiral
notebook to serve that purpose.
Next Staff Meeting
- The next staff meeting is
scheduled for Tuesday, August 30, from 2:30 – 3:30.
