Level II Tutor Training -

Level II training requirements: Four Seminars. NOTE: Each Seminar is worth 3 hours of paid time. In order to be credited for the seminar, learning logs must be accepted. Any logs needing additional work will be returned within two weeks of submission date. Logs not returned within two weeks have been accepted.

Seminar 1: 2/20/2009, Live: 2:00-5:00pm
             Live: Review of Topics covered In Level I:
             Learning Theory, Learning Preferences, and Empowering Students to be Successful
             A Metacognitive Approach to Study Strategies,Dealing with Changes in our Lives
             Diversity, Guiding Students to choose Greater Personal Responsibility
             Stud w/Special Needs, Goal Setting, Self Management, LSC in a Learning Centered College
             Presentation and Learning Log

Seminar 2: 3/13/2009 Online
             Audit of existing LSC Resources and suggestions for additional online options
             Description and Learning Log

Seminar 3: 3/27/2009 Online
            Exploring further in some of the areas we explored in Level I: Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle,
            Kingdomality Learning Types, 4Mat Learning Preferences, Study Skills and Strategies

Seminar 4: 4/10/09 Live: 2:00pm-5:00pm
            The role of the tutor as mentor in the LSC
             Presentation and Learning Log (under development)

Also required is a minimum of 100 hours of tutoring or related work with students.

The next level of training is Level III. It is optional and involves a service project that must be approved by the LSC Director.
