WEB PAGE
Responding to an action item from 8/16/99,
Rick Sheets established a PVCC MAT web page with links to the Distict's
MAT web page. Current web address is: http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/mat/
The PVCC MAT web site has a draft statement
of purpose. Ken Hart agreed to send out a personal notification to
members asking for review & comment and an announcement of discussion
and intent to vote on the draft at the next MAT meeting.
CODE OF ETHICS
David Gerkin provided a brief from the Ethics
Subcommittee (Judi Anderson, Larry Fields, and David Gerkin). Larry
Fields passed out a sheet titled "Student/Administrative Service Managers
"Successful Teamwork Elements." The Ethics Subcommittee agreed to continue
development of a PVCC MAT Code of Ethics. Jo Ann Caufield agreed
to fill the group slot created by the departure of Raul Monreal.
DUES
The subject of dues was discussed.
District MAT is looking for money from dues to continue to use towards
funding of MAT conferences. District MAT dues is $15 per person.
In the past PVCC MAT has asked for an additional $10 per person to fund
PVCC MAT functions. It was discussed that PVCC MAT members did not
want to pay an additional $10 without knowing what the money was spent
on. It was agreed that PVCC MAT dues would be used to provide member
support or member recognition on an as needed basis. An example cited was
using MAT funds to convey group thoughts and support to a hospitalized
or convalescing member. Bob Duke was assigned the task of contacting
MAT members regarding dues.
MENTORING PROGRAM
The MAT mentoring program was discussed
and a subcommittee was formed. The purpose identified is to design
a program similar to the support given to new faculty members during their
first year. The subcommitte was assigned the task of identifying
job functions that new MAT employees may need assistance with. Once
job functions were identified, then MAT members with areas of
expertise could be identified to provide
assistance or training to new MAT employees needing it. MAT Mentoring
Subcommittee members volunteering wereBob Duke, Jesse Hernandez, Sandy
McDill, and Nancy Markowski.
MEETING DATE
The next MAT meeting was set for 2-3pm
on October 11.
Please address any additions or corrections
