PVCC MAT Role

Draft of MAT Role created in 1999. "We have had much discussion over the last two years and the role or vision of MAT is a work in progress. That said, there is definitely a feeling that MAT has two very distinct roles at PVCC."

1. To provide policy group updates and information on deliberations, negotiations, and anything which relates to MAT employees as a group.
2. To support PVCC in its efforts to become a more learning-centered college, which encompasses supporting its learners: students, staff, and faculty as well as an organizational learning process. Discussions have included:
   • Ways to better support MAT colleagues at PVCC e.g. PVCC MAT Retreat, speakers, training designed for MAT
   • in their efforts to become better managers and administrators through professional growth activities
   • provide opportunities for sharing, relationship-building, and support networks
     * Ways to better support students e.g. scholarships
     * Ways to build stronger relationships with other PVCC policy groups
     * Ways to build better community and community service relationships
     * Ways to support the campus in its goals and vision
