Music Performance Ensembles

Dr. Christopher Scinto & Dr. Brett Reed, directors 

Crossing 32nd Street, Phoenix's premiere contemporary music ensemble, is a small ensemble dedicated to the performance of representative chamber music from the 20th and 21st centuries. Now in its third year as ensemble-in-residence at Paradise Valley Community College, the ensemble boasts a repertoire that includes music by John Cage, Elliot Carter, George Crumb, Lukas Foss, Lou Harrison, Charles Ives, Olivier Messiaen, Steve Reich, Edgar Varese, and William Walton. Crossing 32nd Street’s core instrumentation consists of flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion. The ensemble regularly performs concerts in alternative spaces in Downtown Phoenix and on the campuses of Glendale Community College & Paradise Valley Community College.
