PVCC Business Process Guides
In order to make maximum use of the many
new system capabilities, it will be necessary to examine
the way tasks are performed throughout implementation. How
will process guides help users of the New SIS?
1. Supplement the training guides by explaining
how or why particular functions are performed.
2. Increase the awareness of functional
integration and dependency.
The following Business Processes are for
the Admissions and Records and Curriculum areas only. Information
from both PVCC and District is included. Additional processes
are being developed for other areas.
Each business process has the
following information.
Functionality/description: purpose
of the function, PeopleSoft location.
Key decisions: what needs to change as
a result of the New SIS; brief outline of the functional
steps with notes about the PV process. Included are responses
to a set of District wide questions which identify issues
each campus needs to address for implementation.
Batch Process/reports: reports and batch
processes related to the function. Each area needs to decide
how often and when each batch/report is needed.
Access: who needs access to this PeopleSoft
location to perform the function.
Information sources/forms: Are all forms
updated with current terminology? What new forms may need
to be created or old forms deleted? Consider both hard copies
and information of web sites.
Impact: identifies how this process may
impact other processes, other departments and students.
Communications: how to involve all concerned
with the development and implementation of each process as
needed.
Additional information about each process
can be found at the District web site,
http://www.maricopa.edu/nss.
Log into the Intranet site.
Memo password is required.
In each functional area there are employees
referred to throughout the Business Process descriptions
by their job title only. Below is a list of those individuals.
