Nutrition and Dietetics
Paradise Valley Community College offers several pathways to careers in Dietetics and Nutrition. The Dietetic Technology Consortium Program prepares students for a professional career in health care and food service management. Completion of this Associate of Applied Science degree qualifies candidates for the national Dietetic Technician, Registered certification exam.
The Food and Nutrition Program introduces students to nutrition and dietetics. Health care trends, leadership skills, management theories and styles, and government laws and regulations pertaining to food and nutrition services are covered in the program. In addition, students interested in continuing their education after completing the AAS in Dietetic Technology will have the option of transferring to any Bachelor of Applied Science degree such as ASU's Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Service Management or Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise and Wellness, or NAU's online Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Sciences.
