Financing Your Education

Two important things to remember about your tuition and fees at Paradise Valley Community College: First, you’re paying a whole lot less, in fact about 1/3, than you would pay at an Arizona state university—for the same classes!

Financing

Second, you’re making a very important investment in your future. College graduates earn average salaries of almost twice as much as high school graduates who do not attend college.

PVCC is a great value, but it still costs money, so where will you get it? Four main categories of funding are available to augment your personal budget:

  1. Scholarships—you don’t have to these pay back!
  2. Grants—you don’t pay these back either!
  3. Federal Work Study—you work for a salary on-campus, part-time.
  4. College loans—you do have to pay these back, at some point, often after graduation.

Here is how it works.

Step One: Submit a FAFSA—Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It’s easy! You can pick up an application at PVCC’s Office of Student Financial Assistance, KSC 101, or complete and submit the application on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

Step Two: If you are awarded financial aid through PVCC, you will receive an Award Notification Letter that will outline your financial aid award amounts.

Step Three: Your funds will be disbursed after the semester drop/add period. The monies go first to PVCC, to pay your tuition and fees, and any remaining funds will be sent to you via US mail.

*If you withdraw before the end of the semester, your aid may be adjusted.
