Phi Theta Kappa International Convention
On April 12-15 President Scott Mason and Vice President of Scholarship Ashley David attended the Phi Theta Kappa International Convention in Nashville, TN. It was held at the Opryland Resort. Over 4,000 members from around the world were there. We engaged in social fellowship and elected our officers for internationals. The General Sessions included speakers such as Al Gore and Jehan Sadat, the widow of Anwar Sadat inspired the crowd. Alpha Omicron Chi hopes to have more of a presence next year in Philadelphia. |

MDA Telethon
Alpha Omicron Chi participated in the MDA Telethon on September 4th, 2006. President Scott Mason, Vice President of Service Lauryn Hopper, and Recording Officer Angela Mills represented the Chapter.
We worked the 5:30am until 10:00am shift. It took place at the channel 3 studios at 7th st and Bethany Home. We answered phones taking donations and pledges. It felt good to have fun and help out this noble charity at the same time. We even got to meet some of the channel 3 personalities. We plan to have more of a presence next year. |
ADA Walk for Diabetes
Alpha Omicron Chi took part in the ADA Walk for Diabetes held at Midwestern College in Glenadale. This was an enormously successful event. We raised over $300.00 for Diabetic Research and had fun at the same time. We walked around a course on the campus while volunteers cheered us on.

CO-Advisor Lisa Larance was there as well. |
Honors/Leadership Conference
Alpha Omicron Chi attended the Honors/Leadership conference at Chandler/Gilbert Community College. It took place on October 20th and 21st, 2006. This was a time to learn in more detail about the Honors Topic Gold, Gods, and Glory in detail. We had a guest speaker talk about ancient cultures too. We broke into smaller groups and met in class rooms to discuss how to be a more effective leaders in our communities.
The International President Tycia Foster was in attendance as well. It was a pleasure to get some great ideas from here and a picture as well. We also met other chapter officers and members to share ideas and have a social time as well.
