Meeting Minutes Fall 2004
 |
This was our last meeting for this fall semester:
Sarah Leech called the meeting to order at 5:07pm
Topics Discussed:
- One of the things we have left to do
to attain 5 Star status is to compete for both
International and Regional Hallmark awards. One paper
can be entered for both. In the past we have used the
officers to do this. There are plenty of examples of
papers. Let me know which one you want to do, and try
to get it done before the semester is over. It won’t
take much more than an hour or two to complete. We
need 5 submissions. The 4 Hallmarks, Scholarship,
Leadership, Service and Fellowship, and then one from
the following: Distinguished member, distinguished
officer, or distinguished advisor. PTK Deadline
February 25 Entries must be received at PTK
Headquarters by 5:00 p.m., CST. Late, emailed or faxed
entries will not be judged. For further information
you can visit the Phi Theta Kappa website at
www.ptk.org and look under Hallmark Awards Let Stephen
Nicoloff know which one you decide to do, or if you
want to collaborate on all of these as a team.

our first annual Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
Fellowship event! It will be held a the Desert Museum
here in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, October 23rd at
9:30 AM to noon. We will meet at the front entrance
between 9:15 and 9:30. We will then enter all together
and tour the Museum as a group.
We are hoping to
foster friendships and interaction with other chapters
and thought this would be an excellent opportunity to
host a sister chapter event! Admission into the
museum for adults is 9.00 per person, but the Museum
has kindly given me 2.00 off coupons to distribute to
interested chapters. If you have members who are
serious about attending, please let me know and I will
mail the coupons to you or have them available on the
day of the activity.
We highly encourage you to bring
your friends and family to this event. Children 6 - 12
years old have 2.00 admission. Children under 6
receive free admission. There are several restaurants
located on site for food and refreshments. Bringing
water, sunscreen and good walking shoes is
recommended. The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is
located at: 2021 N. Kinney Road, Tucson, AZ 85743.
The phone number is: 520-883-2702. The Desert Museum
is unlike any other museum in the world! Although is
it called a museum, it is really part zoo, part museum
and part botanical garden.
No matter where you live,
there's no better place on the planet to learn about
the desert ecosystem and delight your senses at the
same time! Regarding Phi Theta Kappa Hallmarks, this
is a Fellowship and Scholarship (Pop Culture) event.
If you have 5 Star Enhanced Member Requirements like
Alpha Beta Chi does, then you are fulfilling one of
your requirements by attending a Sister Chapter Event!
