This year at PVCC, the Faculty Association is celebrating its core value of teaching and learning by sponsoring a contest. Students who are currently enrolled at PVCC and PVCC alumni are invited to submit a 750 to 1,000 word essay in which they celebrate an inspiring PVCC teacher and student relationship.
This survey gives students the opportunity to give their teachers a form of acknowledgement, and appreciation.
The winners of this contest will be given cash awards. For instance, first place participants receive the grand prize of $300; the second place winner or runner up receives $200; and the third and final place winner receives $100.
The contest, A Tribute to the Teaching-Learning Relationship, aims to focus on one of PVCC's core values of teaching and learning.
Writing will be evaluated according to its theme, relevance, content, structure, style, originality and voice. Submissions will be accepted for one month between Feb. 24, 2010 and Wednesday, March 24 no later than 2 p.m.
If you have any questions, guidelines and contest entry sheets are available at the office of Dr. Lois Roma-Deeley, in M Building East, room M-168.
