The PVCC journalism certificate offers students the opportunity to acquire a journalism credential while earning a college degree. Designed by the MCCCD Telecommunications and Journalism Instructional Council with the input of area publishers, the certificate prepares students to begin working at entry-level journalism jobs and to build their resumés while still in college. The certificate program can be completed in 24 credit hours.
• JRN 201 News Writing— Tues./Thurs., 9:30 - 11:35 a.m., 3 credits; Fulfills Literacy requirement and transfers to state universities to fill requirement.
• TCM 100 Digital Media — Friday, 9 a.m. – 11:40 a.m., Fall only • Photo-journalism — Not available at PVCC Journalism Certificate candidates will receive their certificates after successfully completing the course work, which includes submitting an e-Portfolio of four published articles to a jury of the advisory council of the Occupational Journalism Program. |
