The PVCC Chess Club is sponsoring the Rest Your Brain Blitz Chess Tournament during exam week from May 11 through 15.
Daily winners will receive awards, says Thomas Sejen, Chess Club president: “This is our second Rest Your Brain Blitz Tournament. Last semester we had over 20 competitors.”
The tournament will be held in the Student Union cafeteria from noon until 1 p.m. every day in a round-robin format. Each player will have five minutes on a chess clock to complete the game. A certified United States Chess tournament director will officiate the tournament.
Chess sets will be set out all day and night during exam week for players to practice and enjoy casual play.
“Everyone — students, faculty and staff are welcome,” says Sejen.
