The "Double Archway" by artists Mark Grieve, Ed France and fabricator, Illana Spector, lit the way to Glendale's 26th Annual Gibson Jazz and Blues Festival April 4.

Artists Mark Grieve, Ed France and fabricator, Illana Spector, erected a 30-yard high “Double Archway,” bedazzling the citizens of Glendale with the light reflected from recycled bike parts creating a gateway between vendors and live music.

Singer, song-writer Khani Cole, dominated the street stage, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The two-day festival, featuring 22 bands including Turning Point with Marion Meadows, was held in the street at historic downtown Glendale near city hall. Other jazz and blues performances included bands such as the Musical Magic of Doc, the Bad News Blues Band, Big Pete Pearson and Big Nick & the Gila Monsters.

Like Cole, many of the artists celebrated are Phoenician locals. Cole, a resident of Scottsdale, also performs with her band at Voce, her co-owned Italian restaurant located just east of Old Town Scottsdale at 9719 N. Hayden Road, which premiered earlier this year.
