Faculty Resources

Library Services
--- Contact PVCC Librarian at beginning of semester to identify dates for library instruction at PV Black Mountain.  Instruction will be on how to use PVCC Main library and the online resources.  Depending on staffing and time of semester, library instruction may not be available so it is best to make arrangements at the beginning of the semester.

Once a date or several dates are identified, contact the PV Black Mountain Site Supervisor to reserve a lab for the instruction.

Instructor Absence/Late
--- Instructor calls Division Secretary to report absence
-- Instructor calls site supervisor with info about a sub from the division, an assignment to give the students before dismissing them, or canceling class
-- If the instructor knows in advance, then the instructor works with the Division to get a sub and lets the site supervisor and students know.
-- Instructor calls site supervisor to report going to be late and estimated time of arrival.  Site supervisor meets the class with the information and assignment to do if the instructor has given one
Cancelled Classes/Calling Students
--- Division Chair in collaboration with the Dean of Learning decides on canceling classes for low enrollment before the class begins.  The Division Chair notifies division secretary and Alicann Lunceford that class should be cancelled.
--- Division secretaries notify students and instructors of cancelled classes.
--- If class is canceled for one session and students need to be notified, the division or instructor arranges for students to be notified.
Duplicating
--- Instructors can request copies via email using the form on the PVCC Copy Center web site: www.pvc.maricopa.edu/fiscal/copycenter/
--- Copy Lily Fultz on all requests so she can arrange deliveries to PVCC Black Mountain
--- Plan ahead ... last minute or rush jobs should be avoided, if possible
Enrollment
--- Instructors should contact the Site Supervisor about any unregistered students walking into classes
--- Before 7pm:  The Site Supervisor can contact Admissions & Records at PVCC Main to determine if the class is still open, and then facilitate enrollment if there is space available for the student
--- After 7pm:  The Instructor and Site Supervisor can give permission for the student to remain in the class that evening if it is determined that there may be room for the student.  The Site Supervisor begins the enrollment process by having the student complete the Student Information Form and a white enrollment card
--- Site Supervisor then calculates fees, and can accept a check which is stapled to the white enrollment card (be sure course number is written on the check).  Student is advised that Fiscal Office will confirm the fee calculation and advise if there are additional fees that were not collected
--- If the student wishes to pay for the class by cash or credit card, they must contact the Fiscal Office at PVCC Main the next day to pay for the class
Mail Service
--- All materials should be brought to Lily Fultz in A Building and she will make arrangements to have the materials taken to PVCC Black Mountain
Override
--- Enrollment override: class enrollment limits are based on room size and division course enrollment limits; exceptions or overrides need Division Chair approval
--- Pre-requisite override: site supervisor contacts the division chair for approval
--- Late enrollment override (beyond official drop/add period): Needs instructor and Division Chair approval
--- Assessment testing required
Rosters (45TH Day and Grades)
--- Division secretary sends rosters for PV North classes to Tina Emmons for delivery
--- Instructors at PV North, if not coming to campus, give signed rosters to the site supervisor to deliver to Division Secretaries
--- Signed grade rosters may need to be delivered by the faculty to the Division Secretaries by the due date.
