We invite you to participate in the PEAK Leadership Institute, an exciting new umbrella program at PVCC, encompassing several of our already highly successful leadership programs and culminating in a Certificate of Achievement. It has been carefully designed to provide you with progressively sophisticated, hands-on training. PEAK includes a variety of leadership classes and programs such as Emerging Leaders, Student Leadership Council, LeaderShape, and Student Public Policy Forum. Student Life also offers a variety of Student Clubs and Organizations including our two year honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, our student newspaper, the Puma Press, and Phi Beta Lambda, a professional association for students pursuing business careers. Campus activities include a variety of visiting performers/musicians, campus recreation, and student wellness events.
Involvement in Student Life and leadership programs will benefit you in the following ways: You will develop your leadership potential gaining valuable experience for your professional résumé and portfolio, learn to set goals, sharpen your communication skills, gain confidence, learn about academic and professional opportunities including travel, reinforce your own academic performance, and network with college leaders on campus and throughout the Maricopa Community College District.

Leadership Certificate: The PEAK Leadership Institute provides students with leadership development opportunities through a comprehensive certificate program. PEAK is designed to empower, foster, and mobilize leadership potential in every student.
Leadership Classes: Through the Emerging Leaders Program, a 2 credit class (CPD103BL) that includes a weekend retreat in Northern Arizona, you will: develop a greater personal understanding of leadership skills, develop a passion and commitment to community betterment and positive social change.
LeaderShape: This Maricopa Community College District-Wide intensive six-day experience called LeaderShape teaches integrity-based leadership to approximately 60 college students each May here in Arizona.
Recreation: Campus Recreation provides opportunities for students, staff and community members to get involved in different activities on and off campus including events such as Race for the Cure, 3 on 3 Basketball tournaments, outdoor recreation, and more.
Student Clubs and Organizations: Get involved with students who share similar interests or educational goals as you!
Student Leadership Council (SLC): SLC is the student governing body on campus, consisting of elected officers and club representatives that participate in campus decision making. SLC provides an opportunity for you to develop and demonstrate leadership skills and work on issues that impact the student body.
Student Insurance: To protect students against the financial burden of medical expenses, the District provides students with Student Accident Insurance and an optional Student Accident and Insurance Plan. For more information please call (602) 787-7240.
Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF): SPPF provides an overview of local, state and national public policy making, citizen influence and involvement.
Union Programming: Student Life offers a variety of activities including visiting performers/musicians, comedians, guest speakers and more!
Wellness Programs: Campus Wellness, Student Wellness at PVCC, and BACCUS offer special events, speakers, recreation, education, and the annual "WellnessFest."

PVCC Athletics currently offers the following sports: Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Track and Field and Softball.
The Honors Program offers scholarship opportunities including the Presidents’ Scholarship, special classes and cultural events for students who qualify.
The Peer Mentor Program is a 3-credit class (CPD250) designed to help you, the successful college student, develop and apply your leadership skills in a peer helping relationship.
Student Ambassadors represent our campus to visitors and incoming freshmen.
Service-Learning is learning that combines academic study, thoughtfully organized public and community services experiences and reflection.
