Rowdy Duncan

Rowdy has worked in the field of higher education for roughly 8 years, and he greatly is passionate about the opportunities held therein. Rowdy achieved his Bachelors in Communication in 1998 with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication. He has worked in Peer Mentoring groups in the past whose goal was to educate topics like Prevention topics (like Drug Prevention, Domestic Violence Prevention) and Diversity/Inclusion topics. Rowdy completed director training from the Anytown/Ourtown programs and has used these experiences to teach about commonalities among peers as well as inclusiveness appreciation. Rowdy has also worked at Rio Salado as an Academic Advisor, as well as Honors, and is now situated in Student Life and Leadership as a Program Specialist. Rowdy is the point of contact for the Emerging Leaders Program LDR101, a program which he loves. He also leads outreach efforts for the Student Life program, so you might see him at an Intramural Sports event, or at Board Games on the move with the Campus Activities Team. He is also passionate about his work with DiversityInc a yearlong program that teaches students how to present the MOSAIC inclusiveness program consisting of COM225, COM281AB, and COM101. He would love to see meet and get to know you, so if you have time stop by KSC1305!

Syd "The Sloth" Vanotti, Student Worker

Sydney has spent most of her life in the Polynesian islands. However, she has done an exemplary job of integrating into American culture. Her record of 7 double-doubles (in one sitting) from In-N-Out is a personal best. She is most well known for her attempt to break the world record for typing out the letter P on a keyboard. Other accolades include being the poster child for Horizon High School's Glee Club and her reception of the Human Vulture award for eating anything found lying around in the office.

Every summer, she migrates to an island off of Maine with her pet monkey, Simeon, where she perfects the art of soap carving. During that time, her preferred method of communication is via carrier pigeons.

Luis Rodriguez, Student Worker

Luis Rodriguez epitomizes integrity, energy, hard work, and creative service with each person he comes across. Raised in the North Phoenix area, he is attending Paradise Valley Community College with the goal of becoming a surgeon in the future. Beginning his semester working for the office of Student Life and Leadership, Luis established himself as a distinguished and influential authority figure amongst his peers.

Luis enjoys helping people, giving back to his community, and watching The Walking Dead when unoccupied.
