During the 1995-96 academic year, PVCC began
Athletics with men's and women's cross country, men's and women's
tennis, and men's golf. A total of 23 athletes competed the
first year. Since then, women's golf, men's and women's track
and field, and men's and women's soccer have been added. It
is anticipated that during the fall of 2000, over 100 athletes
will wear the blue and teal of PVCC. During the summer of 2000,
a track and field facility and soccer field were completed on
campus.
On the field, PVCC has produced two NJCAA Women's
Cross Country Team National Champions, one NJCAA Women's Cross
Country Team 2nd place Nationals finish, one Women's Cross Country
Individual National Champion, one Women's Cross Country Individual
National Champion runner-up twelve student athletes named Cross
Country All Americans, twenty student athletes named track All
Americans, two National Champions in Men's Pole Vault (outdoor),
two National Champions in Women's Pole Vault (outdoor), and
one National Champion in Women's Pole Vault (indoor).
