Minutes from TCT Meeting:

Issues/items discussed:

1) Ocotillo Update:
Jim updated us on the January 14, 2005 Ocotillo meeting. Their meeting focused on preparing for the Tuesday, May 17, 2005 Ocotillo retreat to take place at South Mountain Community College. The plan for the retreat is to be a large, open event for all Maricopa faculty and staff interested in instructional and other technology. They're planning for a registration level of 200-300. The format will be a mixture of the large general sessions, with the bulk of the time being set up as open running demos in the Technology Center open computing lab, plus two rounds of concurrent demo sessions in the computing classrooms.

The Ocotillo chairs plan on issuing an online call for at least two presenters from each campus to share in a demo session their innovations and uses of technology.

2) Technology Requests Rankings:
The remainder of the meeting was spent on continuing to rank the technology budget requests.

Cathy handed out the most recent version of the technology requests. She separated them according to priority level. On the first page, listed under Criteria, the #0 stands for requests that are covered in other dispositions. Those listed under #1 satisfy the Replacement/Obsolescence criterion. Those listed under #2 satisfy the Direct Impact on Instruction criterion. Those listed under #3 satisfy the College wide Infrastructure Impact criterion. Finally, those listed under #4 satisfy the New Equipment for Programs and Staff criterion.

We made our way through Criteria #0 and #1 today.

Originally, our next TCT meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, February 9, 2005. We decided to have two more in between to get through the requests. They are scheduled for

Monday, January 31, 2005, 4P-5P at IRTS area in A-Building

and on

Wednesday, February 2, 2005, 12:45P-1:45P in the G-Conference room.
