Coordinating Team - TCT Minutes from TCT meeting: Members Present:
1) Fall 2006 Meeting Dates: We agreed on the following meeting dates for the Fall 2006 semester (1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month): 1) Wednesday, September 6, 2006, 12:45P-1:45P in the G-conference
room.
2) DSS (Decision Support System): Some of us attended the DSS training session that was available
last Thursday and Friday. This is information relevant to the SIS
(lots of good statistical data). Check out the following web link

Linda informed us that even though the Ocotillo retreat at PVCC has been cancelled for this year, they're working on putting together an Open House event before the start of the fall semester. She's meeting with the committee tomorrow and will inform us via e-mail of the plans.
Kurt mentioned that Steve Lewis, Psychology adjunct, asked about the possibility of obtaining server based software for use in his class; cost mentioned is ~ $1,000. Kurt will forward more information about this to Linda. To be discussed again in the fall.
Cathy presented our TCT budget requests to the PBRC yesterday. Thank you, Cathy!
Jen went through price quotes for various software packages. (Refer to her handouts from today's meeting for in-depth coverage.) A) SnagIt - This is a business tool that lets you capture, edit,
and share what you see on your PC screen. Visit the web site to
learn more: We already have CAMTASIA (visit the website at http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp to learn more). Jen will check on Camtasia usage; compare to SnagIt pricing. Jen will also check into whether we need more Camtasia licenses. B) SmartDraw - The Internet drawing tool used to create great looking
time lines, calendars or Gantt charts, floor plans, business forms,
flow charts, organizational charts, etc. Visit the web site to learn
more: C) ASSET (Arizona School Services through Education Technology)
(through ASU and KAET) - A database for teachers. All K-12 teachers
have full access, including their students. United Streaming =>
videos available online. One can download clips, and use them in
courses, PPT segments, etc. Visit the web site to learn more: D) Turnitin - The worldwide leader in plagiarism prevention and
web-based class management for education institutions. NB: All MCCCD
campuses are using Turnitin except for SMCC and PVCC. The cost is
about $650/campus + $0.75/student (this is a 3-month old quote -
