1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9
Concept
Beginning to understand the range of opportunities that exist for you to become lifelong, active citizens. Think about a transition plan that will ensure that you use the assets, skills, and achievements that were developed through all of your hard work with Project Ayuda.

Readings
As an AmeriCorps member/alumni, you have a tremendous opportunity to use what you have learned and experienced to build upon your future! This could mean continuing to volunteer, becoming active with a specific social issue, or exploring a possible career change.

Below are three short readings that explore the role of a citizen, active citizenship, and finally an example to explore some of your future options.

The Role of the Citizen

"The Real Rosa Parks"

"Using Community and Interview Techniques to Explore Life's Options"

Reflective Activity:
1. Make a list of 10 things you plan on doing BEFORE you graduate college to prepare you to be an active citizen. After each action, write down what you will need to do to make it a reality.

(For example, if one of the action items is continue to volunteer, write down what contacts you need to make and what places in the community interest you. If one of the items is to do at least one informational interview, write down the steps you need to take to make it happen.)

Now, you must send in your answers:

E-mail them to pvcceap@pvmail.maricopa.edu
