Define the ambiguous terms in the following descriptive and prescriptive statements.

1. I think it is un-American to be in favor of gun control.
2. After a summer of fast-food meals and processed snacks, I was fat.
3. We need to spread democracy and freedom around the world.
4. After taking CRE 101 from Butler, he was a really good reader.
5. Many Americans feel that the so called Iraqi "freedom fighters" are really just terrorists.
6. Many Iraqis feel that the so called American "freedom fighters" are really just terrorists.

Homework: Find a descriptive or prescriptive argument that has one or more fatally ambiguous terms in it. Show how different interpretations of the ambiguous terms can affect the outcome/acceptability of the argument.
