The First Year Experience (FYE) — Spring 2009 Programs.
Participants in the Spring 2009 First Year Experience enroll in a block of 2 freshman courses. Students will go from course to course together and will also have the same instructors. Opportunities are numerous for study groups, peer tutoring, faculty interaction, integration of assignments, and many group projects.

In Spring 2009, the following First Year Experience options are available:
FYE 102 Global Perspectives in the Information Age

• Do you want to explore, understand and become actively involved in your world?
• Does research writing frustrate you?
• Does negotiating the massive amounts of information available confuse you?

This Learning Community will help you develop the knowledge and skills to find the right information and incorporate it seamlessly into quality writing for college.
In this dynamic 6-credit learning environment, we will explore global issues through research in print and on-line resources, and learn how to effectively evaluate and communicate our informed perspective to engage and persuade audiences in written essays, an e-portfolio and a final project.
Designed for students who wish to gain transferable research and writing skills that will serve them in all their college work and beyond.
