HUM190 Honors Forum Class Fundraiser
Congratulations to the Honors Forum class for their The Lost Boys of Sudan scholarship fundraiser! More than $2,300 was raised last week. The sounds of drums and singing filled the KSC as students, faculty, staff and community members learned African dances, bought ceramic cows, had their pictures taken in African dress and showed their support of the Arizona Lost Boys Center.
Honors Project Deadline – December 12
If you are on a contract for completing an Honors Project in a a class, you must submit a copy of the final project to the Honors Office by December 12. You must also ask your professor to send written documentation to the Honors office, or an email or to pvcc.honors@pvmail.maricopa.edu, stating that you passed the Honors portion of the course by December 12. No Honors designation will be assigned to your class unless both of these are completed.
Remember: Honors Advising Special
The Advising Office will give Honors students priority walk-in on Thursdays from 8am-12pm. Honors students will meet with Advisor Aubrey Kerlin. I encourage you to build a relationship with an adviser and make appointments for a guaranteed time with them. The Advising Office phone number is 602.787.7060. They do walk-ins during the morning and appointments in the afternoon.
Tuition for Spring 2008
For Presidents’ Scholars: If, at the end of this semester, you have met all of the criteria to retain your scholarship, your award will automatically roll over to Spring 2009. If your account total is more than $1080 you must pay the difference. If you have not met the criteria, your scholarship will not be paid for Spring 2009 and you will be responsible for all costs next semester. A hold has been placed on your account so you will not be dropped for nonpayment.
For Fee Waiver Honors Students: If, at the end of this semester, you have met all of the criteria on the Fee Waiver contract, your award will be sent to you January. When registering for classes for Spring, do not rely on this award to pay your tuition. Tuition is due by December 5. After December 5, tuition is due the day you register for class. A new Fee Waiver form must be filled out each semester, so if you are going to be here in the Spring please pick up a form.
