Meet the LSC Office Staff & Tutors!

Director: Rick Sheets, Ed.D.
Rick
completed his Ed.D. in 1994 at ASU in Curriculum &
Instruction. His dissertation was "The Effects of Training and Experience on
Adult Peer Tutors in Community Colleges." Rick
has been involved in learning assistance for 23 years
and was the founding director of PVCC's LSC in 1988.
For the last 8 years he was the Director of the Computer
Commons and has returned home again to our LSC. Rick
and Barbara (his friend, life-partner, and wife) continue
to long to grow old together, sharing life with each
other.

Coordinator: Richard
Morales, M.Ed.
Richard
attended Arizona State University and earned his B.S. in
Business Administration. He recently completed his Masters
in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Richard started his career with Maricopa Community Colleges
at South Mountain Community College in 1997 when he accepted
a student position in their Media Department. |

Coordinator: Sandra
Beeman, M.Ed.
Sandra earned her B.S. degree in Global Business
at Arizona State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from
Northern Arizona University. She
has been working on the PVCC campus since the Spring of
2002 and is a CRLA Program Certfied Tutor Level 2. She has
worked in the Center for Distance Learning and the Learning
Support Center as a computer and in-class tutor. Sandra's
interests include reading, watching movies, listening to
music, quilting, and sewing. |

Administrative
Secretary/Lead Front Desk: Alison Livingston
Alison's association with PVCC began in 1987 when she started
attending classes. She became an employee of PVCC in 1990
and worked in Student Leadership and Disability Services,
A&R, and Counseling before joining the LSC in 1995.
Alison just completed her AGS degree at PVCC and hopes to
be a lifelong learner. She has two children and a granddaughter
with whom she is totally besotted. Her interests include
collecting pre-1970 British coins, listening to music, reading,
going on day trips, and spending time with family and friends. |

Assistant
Lead Front Desk:
Danielle Pierce
Danielle
"Dani" (a.k.a. DisneyDani) joined the LSC staff
in Spring 2002 and is working toward her associate's degree
at PVCC. She loves to read, listen to music, and go to the
movies. Dani's favorite passion is Disneyland, and she prides
herself on her knowledge of the "Happiest Place On
Earth." |

Front
Desk: Gloria Martinez
Gloria has been associated with
PVCC since 1993. She has worked in several areas: A&R,
Testing, the Information Desk, and now the LSC. Gloria has
lived in Phoenix most of her life. Her interests include
gardening, music, and helping ESL students with translation. |

Front
Desk: Beverly Richdale
Beverly has been associated with PVCC since early
2003. She worked in the Assessment Center for 3 1/2 years
before joining the LSC. Beverly was raised in Seattle but
has spent the last six years in the Southwest living in
Las Vegas and Phoenix. Her interests include spending time
with her grandchildren, dogs, horses, dancing and hiking. |

Desk: Betty McElligott
Betty
started tutoring for the LSC in 2001. She is a Level III
CRLA certified tutor and is currently working toward her
associate's degree in Applied Science at PVCC. Betty has
been an insurance agent since 1984. Her interests and
hobbies include spending time with her children, golfing,
bowling, reading, and computer graphics. |
