Academic Exchange Quarterly. An independent double-blind-peer-reviewed
print journal, welcomes research, commentary, and other
manuscripts that contribute to the effective instruction

Change Magazine. AAHE's Award-winning
bimonthly magazine, free to AAHE members. Change is an opinion
magazine dealing with contemporary issues in higher learning.
It is intended to stimulate the thoughts of reflective practitioners
in colleges, universities, corporations, government, and
elsewhere. Using a magazine style and format, rather than
that of an academic journal, Change seeks to spotlight trends,
provide new insights and ideas, and analyze the implications
of educational programs and practices. The editorial focus
of Change includes articles and profiles on trend-setting
institutions and individuals, innovative teaching methods,
economics and finance, administrative practice and governance,
public policy, professional development, curriculum, the

Personnel Abstracts,1965-1984; then Higher Education
Abstracts 1984-- present. Published by The Claremont Graduate
School, as a quarterly journal of abstracts of the higher
education literature, Higher Education Abstracts provides
more than 400 informative abstracts in each issue, covering
journal articles, books, papers, and reports. Higher Education
Abstracts is the only abstracting publication that focuses
solely on higher education and covers all types of literature.

Forum for Reading: The Journal of College Reading Improvement
. Published twice annually by an IRA College Reading Improvement
SIG, focuses on college reading.
Journal of College Reading and Learning. A publication
of CRLA, it is a forum for current theory, research, practice,
and policy related to post-secondary reading improvement
and learning assistance. Preferred articles include linking
theory, research, or policy to practice. Research articles
are welcomed. Manuscripts are particularly invited on the
following topics: college reading, learning strategies and
study skills, tutoring, critical thinking, computers, program
administration, teaching methods, writing, and program evaluation.

Journal of
Developmental Education. Published as a forum for educators
concerned with the practice, theory, research, and news
of the postsecondary developmental and remedial community.
Its content focuses on basic skills education and includes
topics such as writing, mathematics, reading, tutoring,
administration, and program evaluation. Emphasis is placed
on manuscripts that relate education theory to practical
teaching and learning, expand current knowledge, or have
a clearly demonstrated impact on the field. Description

Learning Assistance
Review. The Learning Assistance Review is the official
journal of the National College Learning Center Association.
It seeks to expand and disseminate knowledge about learning
centers and to foster communication among learning center
professionals. Its audience includes learning center administrators,
teaching staff and tutors, as well as other faculty and
administrators across the curriculum who are interested
in improving the learning skills of post-secondary students.
The journal publishes scholarly articles and reviews that
address issues of interest to a broad range of learning
center professionals. Primary consideration will be given
to articles about program design and evaluation, classroom-based
research, the application of theory and research to practice,
innovative teaching strategies, student assessment, and
other topics that bridge gaps within our diverse discipline.

New Directions
for College Learning Assistance. A Jossey Bass Higher
Education Series that was issued in twelve volumes issued
quarterly from 1980 to 1983. It is out of print. A list

Research &
Teaching in Developmental Education. A journal sponsored
by the New York College Learning Skills Association. Authors
are invited to submit manuscripts on a variety of topics
related to developmental education. Of particular interest
are articles that address measurement and evaluation procedures;
program design and implementation; research and pedagogy
as they inform, or are informed by, current theory; and
interdisciplinary approaches to major concerns in developmental
education. Manuscripts, previously unpublished, will be
considered for publication. Authors should follow APA Guidelines
for documentation when preparing their manuscripts. Issue
