| This event was designed to remember and honor those who fought, passed away, or survived the tragic event on September 11, 2001 as well as our military currently serving our country and our veterans. Memorial flags were donated to our group by the Young Republican group of Arizona for the memorial. To raise money for a veteran scholarship on campus, students "sponsored a flag" for a dollar, or "adopted a flag" with a military member's or veteran's name on it for two dollars. The scholarship amounted to about $200 and was presented to the Veteran's Association on campus during our induction ceremony on October 14th. |
