Part 2 -- Curriculum and Social Responsibility

 Background

Core components B and C of Criterion Four examine the ways in which the college encourages students to gain a breadth and depth of knowledge.  In particular, these sections discuss PVCC's degree and certificate programs, advising and counseling services, curriculum development, as well as the courses and programs of the College that support social responsibility, global awareness, experiential education, intellectual inquiry, and creativity.

 What three things did Linda learn or find interesting?

 1.   The scope of PVCC programming is very ambitious.

 2.   PVCC programming tries to meet the needs of our community.

 3.   PVCC offers a wide variety of basic programs but also addresses specialty areas.

What are three important Ideas for a first time visitor to PVCC?

 1.  The needs of different learning styles have been addressed in the many activities and programs.

 2.  Commitment to community is a big part of PVCC programs and activities.

 3.  PVCC demonstrates a commitment to prepare students for living in a global village.
