You start Winsock FTP (FTP for Windows) by double clicking on the Winsock icon.
FTP opens with a Dialog box asking you what site you wish to open. You have the option of fill ing in the Profile Name but you must fill in the Host Name, Host Type, User ID and Password!
Host Name: www.pvc.maricopa.edu
Host Type: Unix or Automatic
User ID: jbazooka (use your ID)
Password: Your_password
Remote Host: www
Local PC: C:\temp
Once you have filled in the
boxes, Click on OK.
FTP will connect you to the FTP server (host) that you selected. If you identified
a directory you wanted to start from, FTP will place you in that directory (assuming
it exists on the server).
