2007-08 USI Focus Team: Orientation

Membership: Marianne A., Stella N., Greg S., Fred W., Amber W.M.
PVCC Resources: ESL faculty, Paul Dale, Jim Rubin

Objectives:

  1. Align orientation planning and design with CCSSE
  2. Develop a hybrid orientation that includes assessment, academic advising and registration prior to orientation
  3. To develop recommendations to address the concerns of classes closing during orientations
  4. To review, redesign and schedule Parent Orientations during student orientations
  5. To identify and incorporate break out sessions into iStart Smart orientations
  6. To design an iStart Smart orientation for ESL students in coordination with ESL faculty
  7. To identify and select AAA/CPD115 completers to assist with iStart Smart
